Monument Yogyakarta

Monument Yogyakarta - Many people call the Tugu Yogyakarta. Sultan Hamengkubuwono I was founder of The Kraton Yogyakarta and he was also building Tugu Yogyakarta. Where is the location of Monument Yogyakarta? The monument is located at the intersection Sudirman Street and Pangeran Mangkubumi Street.  The monument has symbolic value and is a magical line that connects the southern ocean, kraton Yogyakarta and mount merapi. At this time, Tugu Yogyakarta became the place where tourists take their pictures.  Many people say that “If you don’t go to Tugu, it means you don’t go to Yogyakarta yet.”  I don’t know from where this term comes. If we look to the north from Kraton Yogyakarta, we can find that Malioboro Street, Mangkubumi Street, Tugu Yogyakarta Street and Monument Yogyakarta Kembali will form a straight line exactly with the direction to the summit of mount merapi.
