1 March General Offensive Monument Yogyakarta - This monument is located in the Zero Point Malioboro street , right in front of the post office and among Malioboro  and northern city square in Yogyakarta. And right in the neighborhood Vredeburg Museum . This monument was established to commemorate the Indonesian army attacks against the the Dutch in 1949. The attack is an attack that was held on March 1st, 1949 against the city of Yogyakarta on a large scale that planned and prepared by the highest ranks of the military in the area of Division III / GM III by including some top leaders of local civil government under instructions from the Third Division Commander, Colonel Bambang Sugeng  for  proving  to the world that the military -  it’s also the Republic of Indonesia.

At that moment, Monument Yogyakarta can be controlled by the military for 6 hours until 12.00 on the time. And nowdays , this monument to be one of the cultural heritage in Yogyakarta as a building reminiscent of the history of the Indonesian struggle against the invaders in the past and this building is used for the big day or Independence day, for example National Heroes Day.
